Transfer Window Roundup January 2018

Well the Window has finally closed and now I will share my thoughts on it.

Everyone is saying that Arsenal had an extremely good Transfer Window and are claiming it as one of the best we have ever had before. Where I stand on this is that we had a good Transfer Window, but not the greatest. Although we got Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan, Mavropanos, and signed Özil to another contract, we also gave away our most loyal players in Giroud, one of our quickest players, Walcott, and let us not forget Alexis Sánchez. We also sold Marcus McGuane to Barcelona. I have ranted and made separate comments about each player but I have not released my thoughts on McGuane. Personally, I was quite frustrated when I saw Marcus holding up the Fc Barca B shirt. I think he was one of our greatest young prospects from the academy. He may not be too acknowledged now, but I saw potential in him when I saw him play. I wish him the best of luck and hope he proves Barcelona that I am right about him.

Another player we sold was Debuchy. I do not totally agree with this Transfer. I say that he should have stayed here until the end of the season, then sell him, and then buy more defenders. We only have one right back right now who isn’t an Academy player. We should have held onto him because with all do respect, I would trust Debuchy more in our back line rather than an inexperienced under-23. Hopefully Bellerín will stay healthy for the rest of the season, and I hope he will be able to cope with playing so many games.

Next I want to talk about Cazorla. I was so happy when I heard that he was going to be in the Europa League team for the rest of the season. Ever since October 2016, I have been so sad not seeing Cazorla on the team sheet. Him and Özil truly make our midfield tick and I am more excited than ever to see him play again.

Özil signed a new contract. I don’t think I need to say any more on that. #COYG

We also loaned out many players which I am over the moon about. Experience is key for a young player growing up into the world of football. Arsenal has a very bright future in young players.

Finally I want to talk about our new signings. We obtained one of the highest potential Greek center backs in the world. Kostantinos Mavropanos I feel will be very good in the future. We also got Mkhitaryan. I love his style of play and he is perfect for Arsenal, which is why I am so excited about his signing. And last but not least, we got the quickest striker in the world, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. What more is there to say. He is fast, has a deadly eye for goal scoring, and isn’t selfish. Great signings from Arsenal and I cannot wait until the next half of the season.

I would like to thank all the players that have left the club or went out on loan, and I wish all of you the best from the bottom of my heart. #OnceAGunnerAlwaysAGunner
